Heather_Knox5 Questions is a new series where online business women are asked 5 questions about being a mom and entrepreneur. To be featured, please contact me.

Heather Knox is the Founder of The Strappy, a strap that allows you to easily carry your baby in their car seat.

1. What or who inspired you to start your business?
Having my first child inspired me to start a work from home business. I didn’t realize before I had him how much I was going to miss being at home with him and that I didn’t want to go back to a full time office job where i would be away from him 10 hours a day.

2. What motivates you?
My family and son motivate me to get my business up and running. Right now I am a part time stay at home mom and I want to eventually become a full time stay at home mom and still have income to help out with our finances.

3. How do you balance being a mom and an entrepreneur?
Right now it’s a little tougher than I thought it would be to balance being a mom and an entrepreneur. When he’s awake I always want to play with him and love him so I try to do most of my work when he is sleeping or when my husband is home to watch him.  I am lucky to have a very supportive family.

4. What do you love most about what you do?
I love that I can raise my own child and help to support him and my family and also make a great unique product that not only helped me lug him around as he got heavier but will help other moms with the same problem and make their lives easier.

5. What single piece of advice would you give someone who is starting out?
Don’t ever give up no matter how frustrating it is or how tired you get. There is always someone out there that is interested in what you do; you just have to find them.
