1. What or who inspired you to start your business?
I always loved creating things throughout my childhood/adult life and when I became pregnant, I yarned to make things for my son and later on I supplied my products to friends and family, etc and it just took a turn from there. I really enjoy connecting with people from all over the place. It just was a great outlet for me when I became mommy. Sometimes us mommies need some adult time and my business was the way to do it and also it has given me great pleasure. Why stop when you are having fun.
2. What motivates you?
My family, friends, business and God motivate me. God motivates me in not giving up my dream he gives me the spiritual carvings I need to enjoy life to it’s fullest. My family and friends are always their for me and the are such a joy to be around. They are something that would couldn’t be replaced. They are the greatest gift in my life. My business motivates me to more creative and have lots of fun. It let’s me be me, the women who just love to make a product that everyone will like. It just express a good part of me.
3. How do you balance being a mom and an entrepreneur?
I just do. Yes, it’s sometimes hard to drop everything when my son needs something. But I just do it, and then start up again on whatever I was doing afterward. I just think being a multitasker has been a great advantage. And I know what is my first priority is, and that is my son. He is the one that keeps my heart happy and he is my biggest inspiration…. If it wasn’t for him I wouldn’t be creating accessories and apparel for Babies/Children. Also, being organized is a great plus. Just keeping everything in its right place helps a lot. Like finding my sons soccer schedule or having a list ready for the groceries or keeping my wholesale folder organized, so that I a ready when they call. If I just had all things in a big pile it just would be a nightmare and I wouldn’t be able to keep the right balance of being a mom and an entrepreneur.
4. What do you love most about what you do?
I love my life and everything in it and what I do.
I think that is the biggest key, if you are happy with the little things and just enjoy life to its fullest the rest will come no matter what you do. Like for me meeting so many great people, either net-workers, customers, etc. has been always lots of fun and just seeing their faces light up when they touch my products has been a great gift for me. I felt that I always have done what I wanted to do. Like going to college in a different country, traveling when I was young, met my husband at the right moment in my life, ready to have children etc. Pretty much I just followed my instincts and my heart. Which I suggest everyone should do.
5. What single piece of advice would you give someone who is starting out?
Don’t give up your dream or your life’s journey. Sometimes it takes so long…………………and you don’t see the light at the end of the tunnel. Just keep on doing it if your heart tells you so. Do a lot of networking ask a lot of questions, there are a lot of people who love to share their thoughts. Take classes, go the library, etc and just do a lot of research and this will help you follow your heart and your instincts to make the right decision on your new adventure or journey that you have in your life.
