Holiday gift-giving does not have to break the company bank book. Many companies take the time (and the added expense) during the holidays to let their clients know they appreciate them. Twitter is the latest thing and like – what was that thing called? MySpace? – it might end up disappearing into the ether so that in the year 2015 we’ll all be laughing and saying stuff to each other like, “Remember all the twits who’d tweet? har har har.” Sure, there are people out there who don’t tweet. I’d actually say a lot of people. But really, we’re in the now, and small – especially independent – businesses can’t afford to not tweet.

Giving From a Place of Abundance

As mothers, many of us try to teach our children the benefits of giving to others. We want to instill character traits of generosity and compassion in our kids and so we talk to them about children in other countries who do not live with the luxuries we do, we have them pick out canned goods for a school food drive and we have them choose toys to donate to local charities.
